I personally love the rebranding of the National Science and Maths Quiz by the organizers Primetime Limited, an advertising and public relations agency with an interest in education, since 1993.

The rebranding has given it a new look and made it more competitive with amazing prizes.

BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT THE NATIONAL SCIENCE AND MATHS QUIZ

The Quiz competition which was formally known as the Brilliant Science and Maths Quiz.

The quiz, originally sponsored by “Brillant Soap”, is popularly referred to as “brilla” by many who have gone through the secondary school system is by far one of the few academic events that bring all of Ghana’s Secondary Schools together.

The first Quiz Mistress was the late Professor Marian Ewurama Addy, a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Ghana, Legon. She was Quiz-Mistress from 1993-2000.

Dr. Eureka Emefa Adomako, a Botanist at the University of Ghana, Legon, took over as Quiz-Mistress from 2001 to 2005.

In 2006, Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Ghana, Legon, took over as Quiz Mistress. Over the past years, she has succeeded in bringing her own style to the program, occasionally injecting some humor into an otherwise formal program.
