The Essence of Unity in the Christian Faith – The concept of unity had been with man since creation; it was clearly exhibited by God with Adam and Eve as they lived in the garden and agreeing to common rules until the man decided to speak a different language and chart a different course.
God acknowledges the power of unity to the extent that he was very much concerned about the Tower of Babel. God had since endorsed the unity of common purpose for a good cause; not mischievous causes like as was done in Babel.
And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. – Genesis 11:6
Whether you are in an employ, in a home, church and all of its departments and leadership and following, one of the most important things to do is the acknowledgement of unity. With Unity, nothing that needs to be done will be impossible.
Jesus Christ in his very cherished words noted that;
“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” – John 17:20-21
There is the need to be one people for the cause of advancing the kingdom of Christ, propagating the Word of Salvation to the multitude of people. Our lives must reflect the desires of the Father, His Word and be guided by His Spirit to foster the needed unity to get the tasks He gives us done and done right.
With a sense of unity; one people with a godly purpose, surely God’s Glory shall surely triumph in your life and in the lives of others. The Essence of Unity in the Christian Faith is necessary for the growth of the church and its congregants.
Dear LORD, teach my heart how to tolerate the differences of others and be able to set aside my differences to be one with You as Christ is in order to propagate Your Glory to the ends of the world.
