Take up your Cross Daily and Follow- Let no one mislead you, neither should you be confused either; know that as a Christian you are required to judiciously and religious take up your cross daily, and follow Christ.
The Walk with Christ is not to be taken as a once I’m repented, the rest is for me to be sleep. Christianity is not a call to Accept Christ and get lazy. Christianity is a call to follow Christ and has clear cut conditions; deny yourself and take up your cross DAILY and Follow – Matthew 10:38, Luke 14:27, Matthew 16:24, Mark 8:34
‘Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. ‘ – Luke 9:23
Taking up the cross must be a daily activity for the Christian and that is to mean that you have no room to weary or lazy. Although Jesus offered salvation as a free gift (John 1:12; John 3:16–18; Ephesians 2:8, 9), He also warned that following Him would entail suffering and hardship (Matt. 5:10–12; Romans 8:17; 2 Thessalonians 1:5).
Taking up the cross daily means even in times of difficult times, you will still pray and thank God, you will still fast and remain spiritual, you will still love God and keep his statues, you will still put God first and seek His Kingdom and all of its righteousness.
Knowing this, in the face of these suffering, rejection and hardship are you bent on being a Christian or you reconsider your stance? Remember, it is supposed to be daily; every moment. There is no giving up but a complete surrender for Christ in live in you as the Hope of Glory.
To call yourself a Christian is to mean I am here to follow Jesus Christ in the way of rejection and suffering. One that follows Christ will be rejected by those in the world who do not honour Christ. Therefore, a Christian must be ready to face and accept such rejection.
To be a Christian is to say you are ready to Take up your cross Daily and Follow for the sake of Christ.
Father LORD, give me the strength and the will to take up my cross daily in pursuit of righteousness and for the glory of YOU to be revealed.
