SELF REFLECTION\n\n\n\n1st thing you want to do really is reflect. \n\n\n\nThis is very important as it lays down the foundations for any step you are willing to take regarding your career or self development. \n\n\n\nIt helps you understand:\n\n\n\nWhere you are coming from.What you want to be.\n\n\n\nSelf reflection helps you tell yourself the truth without sugar coating it.\n\n\n\nWhile working a Graphic Design job in Mushin with a 30k\/month pay, I asked myself a lot of questions.\n\n\n\nWhat is the end goal of this path?I am maximizing my full potential and capacity as a person?\n\n\n\n2. OUTLINE YOUR GOALS\n\n\n\nOnce you've reflected on what you really want and where you want to be, it is time to turn your intentions into clearly defined goals.\n\n\n\nAlways remember that having goals without having a plan in black and white is still a dream.\n\n\n\nOutline you goals clearly.\n\n\n\nWhen doing this, remember:\n\n\n\nDon't set goals to impress anyone.You are the driver of your own goals.Set a goal in line with your values and career path.Have a timeline and action plan for your goals.Be sincere with yourself.\n\n\n\n3. BE FRIENDS WITH BOOKS\n\n\n\nOne thing reading books does to many young professionals is that it improves self-discipline & consistency.\n\n\n\nWhen I landed my first professional job as a HR Officer, I read a lot of entry level management books. LEARN FROM PEOPLE BEFORE YOU\n\n\n\nLearning from people can simply be:\n\n\n\nLearning from a mentor.Learning from someone's experience.Learning from an autobiography.Learning from your boss\/manager\/supervisor.\n\n\n\nLearning from the past always helps avoids future mistakes.\n\n\n\n7. BE OPEN \/ FLEXIBLE\n\n\n\nRigidity and being head strong can be costly in many ways.\n\n\n\nYou may grow exponentially well in another field but because you've closed your mind to trying new things or leaving your comfort zone, you limit the opportunities out there.\n\n\n\nBe flexible.\n\n\n\n14. BE A PROBLEM SOLVER AND NOT SOLUTION SEEKER\n\n\n\nOrganizations always value people who add value by intentionally seeking to solve basic to complex problems. \n\n\n\nIf you are always waiting to be told the solution, what's now the point?\n\n\n\n15. BE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT\n\n\n\nOne very great thing Emotional Intelligence has taught me as a person, is the ability to understand and manage my emotions. \n\n\n\nEmotions, when constantly expressed, are the driving force behind our attitudes.\n\n\n\nAttitude keeps you where you want to be.\n\n\n\n16. QUARTERLY AUDIT YOUR SKILLS\n\n\n\nSkills are as relevant as breathing in one's career, and the more skilled up you are, the more you become efficient in processes which in-turn results to more financial gain.\n\n\n\nYou can check on a quarterly basis.
