She was way past her due date and the child still doesn’t show signs of moving out of the place it has come to know as home. A place where all his needs are catered for and where his security is assured.
So is it with many of us as we refused to move out of our comfort zones to embrace new challenges and explore new territories. There came a time when the disciples of Jesus were comfortable in Jerusalem and wouldn’t go out to preach the gospels to the rest of the world until persecution forced them out.
Save a Child or a Mother?
The baby’s refusal to come out, now began to put both mother and child in danger. The doctors now had a difficult decision to make: to save the child or the mother.
One had to live without the other. When you refuse to unleash your potential and linger in your comfort zone, you are not only putting yourself in danger but that potential too.

An Admonition for your Life
I once heard somebody say that the best place to find the world’s best ideas and unfulfilled dreams is in the cemetery. Don’t let fear or anything or anyone hold you back. Don’t allow any limitation take your ideas and dreams to the grave.
Be Ready for a Trade off!
In the midst of all this medical emergency, the mother decides to save her child, sacrificing her life for her child. Giving out clear instructions on what should be done to her baby when she is gone.
Until we learn to sacrifice, we can’t achieve the purpose for which we are here. Sacrifice is needful because it releases the power we need to receive your breakthrough.
You might have to sacrifice your home so you become a missionary to lead others to Christ. You might have to sacrifice your sleep so you can put finishing touches to your pitch to secure that contract.
Stay Resolute on your Cause
That was brave of her and it is worthy to note that her ability to take a decision in the middle of all the commotion was quite remarkable. Taking decisions is what makes you a leader.

No matter the circumstances in which you find yourself, you still need a certain level of ability to make sound decisions that will help your cause. Weigh the pros and the cons and have the fortitude to accept and live by the consequences of your decisions.
Eventually and miraculously, the baby and mother were both saved after the operation. This is such a good ending for these two and though I have gleaned some lessons which I have shared above, I still have so many thoughts from their story which I could share later when I finally write them down.
