Bob Marley said “One good thing about music is that, when it hits you, you feel no pain”. When Ella Naise’s music hits you, its all joy.
She has been touring Togo for the past 3 months and she’s finally back in town and AFROSAGES sat down with her for a quick chat.
People, meet Abraham Faith Emmanuella better known in music circles as Ella Naise.
AFROSAGES: Can you please tell us about yourself briefly?
EN: My name is Abraham Faith Emmanuella, born somewhere on 6th March (yeah, i’m an independence baby) i am half Ghanaian half Nigerian, completed Tess College in Nigeria and currently studying Information and Communications Technology at the Ho Technical University. I’m the only child of my parents.
AFROSAGES: That’s cool. When did music start for you?
EN: When i was in basic school, i loved everything entertainment. I was even in the school choir and even performed during entertainment. I started recording when i was in secondary school.
AFROSAGES: What are some of the stuffs you like and things you dislike?
EN: Mhmmm, I like good food, love music and oh I don’t joke with my sleep. I love my mum as well. I dislike bad energy, I mean negative vibes. I want everything positive.
AFROSAGES: How many songs do you have now and do you have any album?
EN: Top of my mind between 16 to 20. It doesn’t include features. No I don’t have an album yet, but I’m working on one as we speak.
AFROSAGES: That’s nice, what genre does your music fit into.
EN: Afrobeats *smiles* and I do a little bit of rap. Like dope 16 bars *laughs*
AFROSAGES: Eish!! Pressure. What stages have you performed on?
EN: In Ghana, Close Up Campus Tour, MTN Pulse Concert, Agbeshie Live Concert. In Togo, I have mounted stages for MOOV and Togocel concerts.
AFROSAGES: That’s quite impressive. Have you won any award before or even nominated before?
EN: Unfortunately no, but I was nominated for the All Music Awards Togo.
AFROSAGES: Can you tell us who inspired you to get into the music industry?
EN: Queen B and Tiwa Savage. Beyonce especially. If you like ask Shatta Wale *laughs*. I love these two, they inspire me.
AFROSAGES: Queen B herself!
EN: Yep, yep, yep… Those two are goddesses.
AFROSAGES: Does your family support your music career and how do you balance school and music?
EN: Yes, they got my back 100% and I do not joke with my books. I most of the time find the right balance.
AFROSAGES: Are you with any record label?
EN: Nope, I’m a one woman band.
AFROSAGES: Where does Ella Naise see herself in the next 5 to 10 years?
EN: World wide man, world wide. Star Girl in the making.
AFROSAGES: Where can we find you on social media?
AFROSAGES: We want to know your Top 5 best Ghanaian artistes and Top 5 Nigerian artistes.
EN: This is tough.. so in no order for Ghana; Stonebwoy, Becca, Efya, Sarkodie and Edem. For Naija; Tiwa Savage (obviously), Simi, Wizkid, Davido and 2Baba.
AFROSAGES: That’s some tight squad.
EN: You know…

AFROSAGES: Any message to your fans out there?
EN: To my family, fans and team, thanks so much for the support, love and encouragement. The journey has just started and I’ll need you more. I promise not to let you guys down. Keep pushing!
