When people say Dancehall Music in Ghana, artistes like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are among the most successful Ghanaian musicians in the last five years, but a rising name in the industry to pay attention to is BanjuI!
Bani Jude Delali popularly known as BanjuI is a Ghanaian Reggae Dancehall artiste born on 16th of September,1987 in Ghana, Tema in the Greater Accra Region. He is the 6th born in a family of 12.
EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION
He attended Michel Camp Basic School for his Elementary and Junior High School education and then went to Mawuli Senior High School in Ho in the Volta Region. He later furthered his education at the University Of Professional Studies, Legon in 2007 for a Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting). His hobbies are playing table tennis and musical instruments.

His love for Reggae/Dancehall music was realized at age seven when he will get beaten by his dad for sneaking into his wardrobe to pick up cassettes/records of Reggae artists like Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Lucky Dube, Culture, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks etc, just for his listening pleasures. These artists have always been a great inspiration to him from day one.
He has featured on great Ghanaian songs with artistes like Castro, Keche, Stay Jay, Yaa Pono and Opanka just to mention a few.
In 2015, his hit songs “Ghetto Swagger” and “Tulaku” (featuring Yaa Pono) were featured on rotation for about 3 months on East African Voice Radio in the UK, and since then, they have been on rotation on several radio stations such as New Style FM(UK), We Talk Radio(USA), Radio Zero(USA), Wind Em Radio(USA), In The Mixx(USA) and 229 The Block(USA).
He’s also been featured on the cover of a London-based Entertainment Magazine, Le Blanc Magazine in September 2016.
He released his first album entitled “Ghetto Swagger”.
He won the “Best Reggae Dancehall Artiste” award in Senior High School in 2006. He won a lot of street battles, and also the winner of People’s Choice Competition among 12 contestants held by YFM Ghana, a major radio station in Ghana.

This competition was to unearth one Reggae Dancehall talent who will open the “Mavado Concert”, hosted by African Dancehall legend Samini at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2011. He again won the Best Male Act at the 2019 Social Media Awards.
