Mexican Javier Aguirre has been sacked as the coach of Egypt early on Sunday morning just two hours after the Pharaohs were booted out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations by South Africa.
The coach who still has three years left on his contract was booted out after Egypt’s poor display at this year’s AFCON. He was the highest-paid coach at the competition. The former Japan and Mexico coach Aguirre signed a four-year deal to replace Hector Cuper last year.
