Have Integrity – We tend to appear Holy when we are the presence of God and His people, but what happened to your conscience to do right even when no one is watching or judging? I urge you to have integrity.
For how long would you pretend to be living the Christian life when in actual sense you are pleasing the church, peers and the man or woman of God. You can only fool yourself but not God, the one who is everywhere, sees all and knows all.
You were not called as a Christian to do anything that makes you happy but rather you were called to do only things that makes you holy just as you Father in heaven is. Sadly, most people feel that after reciting the “Born Again” speech then the tag of being a Christian sticks no matter what they do. Sorry, after the speech you ought to put in the work and make manifest the fruits placed in you by the Holy Spirit(read Galatians 5: 17-21) and not go doing same old things.
Being Born Again means you are being transformed, therefore, moments after moments there comes the opportunity to test you on whether the old self exists or you are going to grow the fruits of the spirit. You do not need anyone watching over you to exhibit these fruits to please them as a score to prove a point but as a way to show that you on the growth path.
The task therefore is to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, to mean that things from the old self would come knocking, it will surely knock when you don’t expect it. Would you pass that test of dropping the anger because your pastor is around or you would hide it and when no one knows you around you would display your old self. The ball is certainly in your court.
For Christ to make manifest in you as a Christian that you ascribe to be, soak in this message from Paul;
‘Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. ‘ Philippians 2:12-16
I trust you would do right by Christ and most especially by yourself to appreciate the role of Christ’s death and resurrection over your life. Have Integrity – Do Right even when no one is watching or judging.
Dear LORD, Strengthen me to walk in the light of your WORD and build integrity.
