Humans with our defensive nature, we usually justify our sins using God and the Bible; “Did God really say…”, did the Bible or God say we should not drink, we should not smoke, we should not marry two wives, we should not eat of that or this fruit?
Many are the questions we ask just to legitimise our sins to be acceptable before God.
The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LordGod had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” – Genesis 3:1
How many times have we had to find out exactly what the Bible says about our behaviour? Many are the things we know that are unacceptable to the Lord our God yet we would want to use the Bible to defend our acts because a reference was made them for us to take a cue. The Bible was inspired and written for our admonishment and examples for us to live the perfect life just as Jesus did.
What are the questions that borders you mind? What sins of the flesh and the spirit are you still busily defending instead of letting go.
Did God really say….;
…we should not drink alcohol?
…we should not take two wives?
…we should not smoke weeds or do drugs?
…we should not indulge in premarital sex?
Have you taken the time off your busy schedules to search the scriptures and allow it to speak the truth to you. These days it is easy to search the scriptures off our Bible Apps on my phones with just any keywords.
Some folks ask;
…is it a sin to…?
…did the Bible say it is a sin?
What is Sin according to the Bible? What is the definition of Sin? How can we tell the difference between right and wrong? How can I know if something is a sin? Is there a list of sin in the Bible? These are common questions that need clear answers. In this video Pastor Nelson answers these questions using the Bible. To know what sin is and how to tell right from wrong, watch this video!
I do not know what your questions are but I employ you to search the Holy Bible and allow the Spirit of God to speak words of Wisdom to you.
Dear Lord, Please as I read your Holy words, kindly explain them to my understanding that I may live according to its dictates.
