Hmmmnn….I know this is the first words in your infamous Psalm 23 – “The Lord is my Shepherd” – ‘to feed, to guide and to shield me’ but my question is Are you a Sheep and is the LORD really your Shepherd?
I will allow you to do the analysis. Are you in the fold as a sheep? Do you listen to your Shepherd? Do you feed on his pasture? Do you follow His leadings? He is Holy and as your shepherd has called you to be Holy – 1 Peter 1:15 are you on His path of righteousness with consciousness? Have you not gone astray? How many times has he come for you? How many more times would you continue going astray?
‘All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.’ – Isaiah 53:6
Yes, how long would you continue straying away? If you are sure to be a sheep then acknowledge that you need to follow God’s path and not your own path. Your sins The LORD made Christ Jesus pay for, was it for you to continue in sin?
For how long? Have you not had enough of sins; sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties(orgies, threesome etc), and other sins like these. These sins are contrary to the house rules of the Shepherd whose sheep you claim to be.
Was Christ born, lived as proof, died for these sins and resurrected with you in Holiness just for you to go back to the sins? Christ is Shepherd, those who follow His leadings are the sheep; Are you a Sheep and is the LORD really your Shepherd?
How long would you keep reciting, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life” when you have refused to dwell in the house of the LORD your shepherd? Are you a Sheep and is the LORD really your Shepherd?
If you are a Sheep then He is your shepherd and to dwell the house of the Shepherd forever then you out to obey House rules – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
I urge you to live your Claim as a Sheep, listen and obey your Shepherd, else…
Dear LORD, forgive my lack of seriousness and pardon my belittling the price you paid for my salvation. Let your rod and your staff be my comfort and give me the strength to live according to the house rules to guarantee my forever dwelling.
