AFFORDABLE THINGS TO DO IN NAIROBI
Kilimanjaro
Eat at Kilimanjaro. They have Indian, Somalian and Swahili dishes and they are very GENEROUS with their portions. I usually go to the one in town solo. The one on Muindi Mbingu street.
Indoor Rock Climbing
You have to try the Indoor rock climbing at Diamond Plaza 6th floor for kshs 1,000 ($9.81)

Dates
Mercado Mexican kitchen and bar at Kenrail Towers in Westlands. Perfect for dates and evening hangouts- music isn’t too loud They occasionally have kizomba nights as well.
Paint Balling
Get your group of friends and go paint balling at Purdy Arms in Karen for kshs 1300 per person ($12.76)

Game Night
Buy Kenya’s number one drinking game from Koolioh Kenya for kshs 1200 per set and invite your friends over for game night.

High Rope Challenge
Challenge your height phobia at Diguna high rope challenge located at AIC grounds in Ongata Rongai for kshs 150 ($1.47) per person.
Hiking
Go hiking at Ngong Hills. Entrance fees is kshs 200 ($2) per person and you must pay an armed guide as well.
Picnics
Picnics at Oloolua in Karen- a 5 km nature trail with a waterfall, picnic site and camping area It’s kshs 200 ($2) for a day.

Feed Giraffes
Kiss and feed giraffes at Giraffe Center. Also very ideal for children. It’s kshs 200 ($2) for Kenyan children and kshs 400 ($4) for Kenyan adults National IDs required and cash payment isn’t accepted.

Go Karting
GP Karting at Carnivore road off Lang’ata road for kshs 1300 ($12.76) per person for 10 minutes. Also very ideal for a family fun day with kids this place was not well maintained the last time I was there. I hope this has changed.
Ice Skating
Learn or Go ice skating at the Panari Ice Rink. For an hour, it costs kshs 800 ($7.85) for children under 14 and kshs 1000 ($9.81) for adults.

Bowling
Bowling at Village Market for kshs 500 ($4.91) per person. It is also ideal with kids.
Group Hangout
Group hang out or dates at Bao box, located at Pramukh Towers, Westlands road. They have a variety of games which I think they charge kshs 1000 ($9.81) per game.

Cycling
Go cycling at Karura Forest kshs 200 ($1.96) entrance fees and kshs 500 ($4.91) to rent a bike . You can go with your own bicycle.

No matter where you live or what you like to do, Nairobi should definitely be high on your list of budget-friendly vacation towns.
